Most randomised, double-blind trial found that adding intravaginal electrical stimulation to pelvic-floor training produced significantly greater improvements in pelvic-floor strength, leakage, pad use and quality of life scores than placebo.

A Cochrane review of pelvic-floor muscle training found 31 trials involving 1,817 women and found that women with stress incontinence doing pelvic-floor muscle training were eight times more likely to report being cured than women receiving no treatment/inactive control (56% vs 6%).
